Sacred Cycles: Attuning to Our Natural Rhythms

A new full day healing retreat at Synergy Holistic Wellness, Orange on Sunday 24.07.22

We are thrilled to invite you to our upcoming full day Sacred Cycles retreat here at Synergy Holistic Wellness. This retreat has been developed for women who would like to let go of what isn't serving them, and to step into the flow of life. This full day retreat will be facilitated by three heart-driven women, and will feature:

  • A beautiful Qigong practice with Chinese Medicine Practitioner Lily Warby. The literal translation of Qigong is “energy work.” It is an Asian form of gentle yoga that has been around for thousands of years. Qigong is easy to do, and even a few minutes of practise can have an invigorating and rejuvenating effect. Regular practice brings about a deep strengthening effect for the whole body and its various systems (nervous, digestive, respiratory, skeleton-muscular, hormonal, etc). The aim of Qigong is to promote the movement of Qi (energy) in the body; this is done by opening certain gates and stretching and twisting energy channels. A key point in Qigong practice is relaxation and deep breathing, both of which are prerequisites to allow Qi to flow.

  • A sacred cycle workshop with Liv McCutcheon to help you soften and surrender into the flow of your life. The Earth's song is one powerful and continuous flow of life-giving energy, playing out on repeat across many aspects of our lives. As women, our bodies, our wild spirits and our souls are innately attuned to this rhythm and its life force, yet our modern upbringing has left much of our deep relationship with these natural cycles as an untapped resource. In this session, you'll be taking a deep dive into the ancient feminine wisdom of the cycles and how they influence the themes of our lives. Each life season, heralded by a rite of passage, contains the keys to our heritage - our birth rites - as well as our evolution. The Four Phase Feminine Cycle may also assist us in mastering our emotions, and the grips that they can have on us from one moment to the next. There will be journaling, meditation, group discussion and opportunities for reflection, as we take a deep dive into the ancient feminine wisdom of the cycles and how they influence the themes of our lives.

  • An immersive Yoga Nidra Session with Meredith. Yoga Nidra is a form of guided meditation also known as “yogic sleep” or “effortless relaxation”. During the practise, we lay in Shavasana as our attention is guided away from the intrusive thoughts in our heads, and towards parts of the body. Here, we are using the body as a tool to begin our focus inward. Then, we are provided beautiful imagery to guide us to turn our attention effortlessly to the very nature of awareness and consciousness. This practise allows us to feel our interconnected wholeness and increasingly become aware of our true, unified nature – expansive, inclusive, restful, and deeply creative.

  • A soothing sound bath with Meredith using crystal bowls, chimes and gongs to relax the mind and invigorate the spirit. Sound bathing (also sometimes called "sound meditation" or "sound therapy") is the practice of mindfully listening to different sounds that help relax the body and mind. Sound is energy, and sound can be healing. By using rhythm and frequency, we can entrain our brainwaves, and it then becomes possible to down-shift our normal beta state (normal waking consciousness) to alpha (relaxed consciousness), and even reach theta (meditative state) and delta (where internal healing can occur). By accessing brain waves like alpha and theta, we're able to reach states similar to those achieved in meditation, leading to increased wellbeing.

  • A heart-opening cacao ceremony with Meredith. Cacao ceremony is used in a sacred medicinal ritual where intentions are set, and we connect to ourselves and the loving energy of our bodies. Cacoa is heart opening medicine for people to experience awakening and inner revelation.
